It has been a hot minute since I updated my journal. But I promise you it wasn’t on purpose <3 I have been so focused on my album Canvas Mind, and have been quite productive with my podcast series (the internet never fails to provide Glowboy and the Doc’ quality content…)

However, I do have some pretty shite news involving my health. I caught the seasonal plague and ended up with laryngitis as a resulting complication. In other words— I lost my voice. So that means the next episode of TDNP and NVMTBS will be inevitably delayed until my voice box has returned from the mechanics.

Though, while I am recovering, I will take this moment to explain my album in more detail, as some people have been wondering on the context due to how each track is being presented going forward.

So, let’s answer the FAQ’s about Canvas Mind!

Q: What is ‘Canvas Mind’ about?

A: Canvas Mind is the first out of three biographically driven albums based on the artists life, using instrumental sound rather than lyrics to ‘paint the picture’ of the album. Think of the music and instruments as the paint and texture, and the artists composition being the brush, and the emotions and feelings that are expressed through each track “paint out” a scenario that is entirely up to the audiences imagination. In a way, it is meant to be a psychological and mental playground for the imaginative and creative mind to wander, while also telling my story through sound. Ever since I was a child, I always used music as an outlet for my emotions and an escape from my often very tedious life growing up. Canvas Mind is the album that covers the first 12 years of my childhood.

Q: What’s the deal with the descriptions?

A: Taking inspiration from the likes of many storytelling based composers, each track will come with its own ‘chapter’. In order to understand the track and its progression within the album (since it is an album that is time sensitive to the artists life.) you will need to read the description with each song, think of it as a guideline and an outline of what emotion, feelings, environments, and events are being represented. They are also real anecdotes from the artists life, as it is a biography after all.

Q: When’s the next track coming out? When will the track releases conclude?

A: Every month on the 15th. The album will end on the 15th October 2024, 5 days after my birthday. Making the album total of 12 tracks, each increasing in duration by a minute or two.

Q: Uhh, where’s the album art?

A: The album art will be revealed at the end of its tenure. Think of it as the final product of the ‘canvas’ we’ve painted on this journey together. :) All album art will be ‘lovingly attempted’ by me.

Q: Where can I hear your tracks so far without scrolling through dozens of uploads?
